Attention Woody Johnson--

It's time to stop messing around. Put a retractable roof on the new stadium, and don't let the Giants use it. Retain the right to decide whether to open or close the roof on gameday. You will sell all of your PSL's because many fans will decide to scream their ass off for Rex's crew. Add the option of having a closed roof, in some cases or weather conditions, for a possible advantage. It sure seems a no brainer considering the areas where Sanchez needs inprovment. He can poractice in the elements at times but it's nice to have the option to create a race track against some teams. In some horrid conditions where it really offers no help to either team while exposing players to injury risk, you can really improve the fan experience.

I'd hate sitting in the pouring rain watching the Giants with the curmudgeon Coughlin on the sidelines.

Is it just me or does it always appear he's not quite hearing anything quite well enough to understand it?

Here's a funny vid from the Onion sports--

Tom Coughlin Retires From Family To Spend More Time With Team

Woody--- You will be able to bid on hosting a Super Bowl. Look at it as an investment in your aparent franchise QB, as well as developing the separate identity sharing the same building. The kid obviously wants to go sleeveless. Control the condions (to some extent) to your advantage now and in the futire. It's gotta be a competitive advantage.

Hi,

I've made some small changes to the topic display template. I've eliminated some extra lines, and the donor image. Saving some of the north-south real estate has allowed me to increase the avatar size, from a max width/height of 120px to 175, while still maintaining the same amount of scrolling needed to view topics with little text. For those who post lots of text, it didn't matter. If the limit is reached in either direction, it'll scale the other. I hope you find the new limit useful.

Cheers

Site Fundraiser

Thanks to the folks who have donated to help support the site. Most of the people donating have chosen not to notify me of their identity, so I'll have to thank them personally here on the forum.

The generous people who have made donations so far have us almolst half way to our goal. I've already paid to renew the software license, so the money received covers the software fees and recharges the fund for the monthly hosting fee. Thank You

I really appreciate your help. It's a shame that the host increases resources in our plan every year, but charges the same fee. It's now reached the point where we have far more resources than we need, but there is no smaller hosting plan (with the amount of control I need to do the job) to drop the price. If it were less money, I'd fund it myself.

Site Software Update

I'm still waiting to find a fix for the RSS import errors using the new software before I upgrade the site. I'll probably submit it as a bug and hope they send me a fix. You win't see any obvious changes outside of added features, mostly in the blog and gallery plugins. The new blog is really cool, because you can choose a featured story. The new template for the blog is also a major improvement.

For those who would like to preview the new software, there's a test board. If you registered there in the past, you can login and take a look around. If you'd like access now, shoot me a pm and I'll pre-register you so you can login. The reason the test board is offline is legally we can only have one public install per license. Test boards are allowed but must be kept offline. If I submit a bug report, they'll be visiting this site to check the error.

Thanks Again!

Hi,

I'll be upgrading the forum software soon. There's a newer version of the forum itself, and there's been two updates to the blog plugin since I set that up. Hopefully it'll go smoothly. I'm also trying to do a little database maintenence while I'm at it. I may delete a bunch of older topics from the Jets forum. I had planned on doing this as a part of moving all the oldest 'keeper' topics into other forums as an archive. I can now easily mass prune the Jets forum without losing anything important. I will probably delete any topics with less than 3 or 4 replies.

I'm also checking into optimizing the database. It doesn't seem to complete on tables with the largest percentage of stored data. I do notice a speed increase rendering pages since I've worked on it, but I'm not satified or confident that something won't happen again.

Another possibility toward fixing this might be to disable an RSS feed or two to see if there's something happening with the weird characters in the posts to disrupt the script or corrupt the database. I've been looking for some way of filtering that garbage out for over a year now, but no luck yet.

I'll be running the upgrades to the forum software and the blog plugin on the test board first, and resolving any issues I may find with the skin.

Thanks for your patience with regard to the downtime. I have to leave the site unattended most of the time, and it's been great until now. I'm hoping the worst of it was a few hours of downtime here or there. We have all but a few threads I had to delete because they were blank. The fact that they were RSS imports makes me think it might be part of the problem.

That's it for now.. I'm on the case in the limited amount of time I have to work on it.

Well, not much of an entry other than to say I've got a new pc all hooked up with all the crap I've been carrying through each pc I've owned. Lots of files, records, and installed licensed software was moved and reorganized. I think the only stuff left to install is my camera software. That's the reason I don't have a pic to post with this blurp of a blog.

My old monitor had degraded to the point where it hurt to look at the screen. It was time, I got a nice setup here.

Ok, so when is this chat coming up?

How come there's no topic posted pimping the chat?
