Tanny got jobbed on Vilma by Loomis
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know this has been discussed but watching Vilma in the SB just makes me madder. Tanny making a conditional trade for a #3 pick going to #2 if the Saints re-signed him to an extension. Good deal, Vilma coming off knee surgery. But that the Saints then "cut" Vilma and signed him two weeks later last off-season to that extension in order to get out of the letter of the deal was bush-league. Tanny should've filed a complaint with the league. Mickey Loomis should've been forced to give up the pick as he clearly violated the spirit- if not the letter- of the trade. Something Belly would do. Watching Vilma tonight, we should have a second rounder this April, not the last pick in the Third round -------------------- Ferrid, the big hose knows

Hmmm... Vilma was pretty good in coverage last night but did you see whose fault the Addai big run was? Vilma tried his patented arm tackle and of course missed him as he broke through the middle. Reminded me of him as a Jet. Anyway, it's 4-3 or bust for Vilma. Besides, I am happy with Shonn Greene, who I believe made his way to us with the extra pick we got for Vilma. As for Tanny's track record on moving players... I am very happy with Revis, Harris, Keller, Sanchez and Greene right now. Ghallstone is a mega bust. Overall, I am satisfied with the net results of Tanny's moves.

Complete and utter bullshit.
Vilma became an UFA before the Saints resigned him, as they were entitled to do. They ran the risk of losing him on the open market by allowing his contract to expire. The league would never have sided with the Jets on this one - the league ain't interested in the "spirit" of trade agreements, only the letter of the rules under the CBA. The Saints did nothing wrong, and neither did Tannenbaum. Anyway, this is total revisionist history. Most people were delighted with getting a 4th rounder, then a 3rd rounder for Vilma who was coming of a knee injury and who most of us thought was a liability anyway. The Vilma trade netted us Dwight Lowery and Shonn Greene - still a good deal whatever way you look at it. -------------------- ![]() |

I watched that game and was thinking "Thank God we got rid of that stiff" He missed so many tackles on the run and was mostly a non factor. Harris is so much better its ridiculous. If they had lost one of the themes would have been how much Indy ran on the Saints. 99 yards on 19 attempts.

i think henry is complainin about how we were gonna get a 2 from the saints if they resigned vilma, but they cut him & then resigned him so we only got a 3--& he thinks the jets (bloomers) shudda filed a formal complaint with the powers that be & then maybe the commissioner would reward the jets compensation like a coupla n'orleans crack whores for the cheerleading squad.

Trade was only avenue to dump Vilma's salary and still get something in return.

What draft picks did he deal for Gholston? Hmmm? Draft picks are a total crap shoot. And thank God that Jets fans as a group can a appreciate the success of trading iffy picks for the likes of: Darrell Revis David Harris Dustin Keller Mark Sanchez Shonn Greene I trust the research that Tanny and the Jets did in trading picks for the core of the current Jets franchise. Please explain your dismay over trading picks for any of these. Right now Tanny's track record on trading picks is rock solid. Your inane criticism is one dime short of lunacy or maybe senility. Are you *that* upset over losing a 3rd last year and swapping a 4th for a 5th this year for the one year rental of Lito Shepphard? Give me a break. Are you really going to bitch and moan this entire offseason? Maybe Maven can write in some kind of automatic limit on illogical bitching around these parts. For God sakes man... the team you root for defied all predictions and expectations and made it to the AFC Championship game. Without the trading away of picks for Darrell Revis David Harris Dustin Keller Mark Sanchez Shonn Greene this would never have happened. Can any of us help you stop being so godammed fucking miserable 24/7? Probably not. -------------------- ____________________________________________________________________________

The success of our team is due to 90+% to Barney's hire, who was Woodcock's
choice. Bloomers/Limbaugh's choice to lead the team was Fatso Manstatue. The Dolts & the Taints have done quite well with the low picks Bloombaugh abhors -------------------- Ferrid, the big hose knows

So Revis, Harris, Sanchez, Greene, and Keller are only "10%" responsible for the Jets reaching the AFC Championship? You need to take a pill. Your position is illogical and untenable. You'd rather have all those lower picks than the players we now have? And you honestly think the team would be better? C'mon Hertz... stop being such a stubborn mule. Tanny did his research on Harris, Revis and the others for whom he traded up and it has paid off handsomely. If you really believe otherwise, then we have a case where your belief defies the reality. -------------------- ____________________________________________________________________________

This was manstatues fault. He liked big slow LBs like goldstone and that other bust. But he was very good to the Jets as a Brown leader. As long as the league does not question the Sanchize and BE for trash deals.

Low draft choices that were starters for the two Super Bowl teams Sessions Bethea Collie Tackles Diem Johnson Garcon Mathis Colston Evans Bushrod Nicks Goodwin Your point? Every team has them and every team has its studs. Having those guys without the Mannings, Breeses, and Freeneys would be worthless. Having traded up for Revis, Harris, Keller, Sanchez and Greene paid off huge dividends. No matter how hard you cry, you can't change that. If you want to conitnue to whine about the picks sacrificed for Shephard or Edwards, be my guset since it seems to make you so happy. But the picks given up for the sake of moving up have been more than worth it. -------------------- ____________________________________________________________________________
