Jan 12, 1969. I guess they’re using ‘68 season to calculate anniversary

Unitas came on in relief of Earl Morral.

Matt Snell, George Sauer & the Jets D we’re reportedly at the game

One of those freak games where the heavy favorite collapses under the weight of turnovers. Jets picked off 4 passes....at least two were down near the goal line.
They go by points

Wasn’t the first in the end zone? It’s been a while since I watched it; as great a day as it was it’s a little depressing since so little has gone right since.

I think so. There was a tipped ball that popped up. I think Johnny Sample got that one. Randy beverly had another. It was classic Jet "bend but don't break" stuff where they saved their asses in the red zone.

My recollection is 2 by Beverly, 1 by Hudson near halftime (when Morral didn't see a wide open WR), and last by Sample off Unitas. press played up revenge of ex-Colt on the one by Sampe.
