that logo is god-awful

I live in LA...but grew up in NY...there's not really all that much buzz here for the Chargers...more Raider fans than anything. There was some buzz with the Rams coming back but only because they were here for so long...I think we'll see more Raider fans than Charger fans at the 30,000 seat stadium that they're going to play in for two years.

this whole move thing is interesting...on the one hand, the owners are ALL billionaires, and if they're not going to give me free tickets to go to the game, then I don't see why they shouldn't fund the stadiums themselves. They are the ones who benefit financially from the stadium, so they should be the ones to fund it.

However, on the other hand, the stadium and games do generate tax revenue for the city and income tax revenue for the state, etc., not to mention the stimulus to the local economy from having the team there.

so as much as we want to see this as a simple clear cut issue, I think it's actually pretty complicated and we never know all of what happens behind the scenes.

my understanding is that in November the ballot to assess taxes on hotels in the area was going to be the source of public funding, and that they needed like 66% of the vote to pass it, but only got 43%.

I don't know, that seems like a pretty fair deal to have the hotel tax fund it...but I don't know how much, if any, money the Spanos family was putting up in addition to the $300M the NFL offered up. The plan was to have a nice downtown stadium...would have been cool, and I think the Chargers belong in SD, so sad to see them leave.

Very sad to see the Chargers leave San Diego.

It's not Modell's Browns leaving Cleveland level bad, but it's still pretty bad.

And that logo sucks. Bigly.
