I know it won't last, but humor me. It's been 10 long fucking years since I have been able to post anything good about this team. I don't care if they lose (ok, actually I do) as long as I see them continue to play hard and give ice time to our younger players.

PS

Fuck Sather for ruining this franchise. At least I enjoy watching this team now.

Gotta say I agree Joe.. what games I can see up here. Might even go see them play the Bruins live sometime this season.

This was a nice moment for the kid I'll bet.

Yet Renney declares Weekes to be the #1 goalie. Some things just don't ever change.

Weekes is a classic #2 goalie. He at times is brilliant, but most of the times he's soft.

And there goes Lundmark....but life evens things out. Here comes Taylor Rain, to Houston this week that is. I just found out on the radio that she is in town for a signing, so I must go profess my anal love.

Weekes backtracks on race issues
October 19 @ 10:12 AM
Injured New York Rangers' goalie Kevin Weekes quickly backtracked on remarks made earlier in the day suggesting he gets unfair treatment because he is black, reports the New York Daily News. His remarks came after he was asked by reporters how he felt after coach Tom Renney declared he would be the No. 1 starter when he returns.
"I don't know, I really don't know," Weekes said then. "To be honest with you, I think I get asked these questions more than any goalie in the league and I don't know why.
"If Jose Theodore was injured, I don't think you'd be asking him the same thing. If (Nikolai) Khabibulin was injured, I don't think you'd be asking him the same thing. And I could go on and on down the line.
"So I don't know if it's because I'm one of two - or one of one. I don't really know why I feel like I have to continue to justify and show improvement and justify and rejustify. Because I stay abreast of what goes on in the rest of the league and I don't see anybody else having to account for anything to the degree that I do." Weekes, on a phone call a few hours later, said to interpret this as a race issue, was way off-base.

BTW Rage! I'll sport the Rangers avatar for you until we win 10 games.

Nice avatar. Weekes is a dumbass for those comments. Why the hell did we get him in the first place if race was an issue.

The reason WHY those guys don't need to answer those questions is because they are GOOD. Weekes is at best a back-up and is ONLY starting because Lundqvist is unknown. Why doesn't he look at his record and pathetic performances? He's NOT the worst goalie in the league, but MAYBE the worst STARTING goalie. It's NOT about race, it's about performance. He simply isn't that good. Got it, Kevin?

Yes! Let's hope Lundqvist becomes the #1 goalie because I swear that Weekes must be sharing a bed with Renney.

Yet Renney declares Weekes to be the #1 goalie. Some things just don't ever change.

Things maybe changing

Lundqvist, a seventh-round choice in the 2000 entry draft, was the goaltender for Sweden's national team at last year's world championship.

"We thought that we might have a gem in Henrik," Rangers Coach Tom Renney said afterward.

Renney maintained last week that Kevin Weekes was his No. 1 goaltender. Not anymore. When asked before the game why Lundqvist was making his sixth start in the last seven games, Renney said: "He's played well against these guys. And I like the karma that Henrik brings in his own way to this little rivalry, if you will."

Renney was referring to Lundqvist's 24-save performance Oct. 19 at the Garden, a 3-2 shootout loss to the Islanders in the teams' first meeting.

I think he was just saying that for the benefit of Weekes, a veteran and all.

Henrik has already played his way into the #1 spot between the pipes and sealed the deal with his great performance over the Icelanders yesterday!!!

something to take your mind off Herman Kotite's decision against the advice of the rest of the FO to bring back Guido from Great Neck and actually put the Dumbass into the starting lineup...
